The farm is family run, led by Ebert Huaman Villegas, a young and determined coffee producer from Salinas. \u003c\/span\u003eThe farm has been growing coffee and raising cattle for over 40 years but since 2017, Ebert decided to venture into coffee and plant new varieties using new cultivation techniques and processes. They currently cultivate over 15 hectares of coffee and 1 hectare with fruits and vegetables. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis is the forth year we have bought coffees from Ebert, with 2023 being the first time they exported outside of Peru. \u003c\/span\u003eIn July 2025, we had the pleasure of visiting the farm to meet Ebert and his family, and see the whole farm operation. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEbert has invested in his and his family's future by enrolling in coffee courses provided by Central Cafe y Cacao - a Peruvian organisation dedicated to improving coffee production and processing techniques. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFrom these courses, Ebert learned about a double fermentation process, which he now uses with all of his coffees; this process has garnered consistent results over the years.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis green coffee is sourced through Mark Russel at Khipu Coffee. Mark is based in Liverpool and has Peruvian heritage. He has a passion for Peruvian coffee and maintains close relationships with producers, like Ebert, providing a platform for their outstanding coffees. Khipu coffee showcase the vibrant culture and extraordinary flavours of Peru, while supporting the people and communities that make it possible. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe are very excited to be working with Mark and continue buying Ebert's coffee.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003ch2 style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003eThe Coffee\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis coffee is anaerobic washed - Ebert follows a coffee process that has led him to have consistent results over the last few years. Coagrobrisas is located in La Plata, Huila, in the central area of the department, and also operates a dedicated women’s program aimed at empowering women as coffee growers and strengthening their role within the coffee value chain. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCoagrobrisas provides training to its producer members, offers ongoing agronomic support, and most importantly delivers collective cupping and group purchasing services that allow producers to sell their coffee together and access better prices. The cooperative also operates drying facilities for producers who do not have adequate infrastructure to properly dry their coffee.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe were lucky enough to travel to Colombia and visit the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) in 2025, to see their community driven approach in person. They provide farmers with a guaranteed fair market buyer, fund sustainability research, and invest heavily in the social wellbeing of rural coffee communities.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs the exporter, the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) values the training efforts carried out by Coagrobrisas and works through a specific program to source coffee produced by women, paying a premium price. The farm is family run, led by Ebert Huaman Villegas, a young and determined coffee producer from Salinas. \u003c\/span\u003eThe farm has been growing coffee and raising cattle for over 40 years but since 2017, Ebert decided to venture into coffee and plant new varieties using new cultivation techniques and processes. They currently cultivate over 15 hectares of coffee and 1 hectare with fruits and vegetables. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis is the forth year we have bought coffees from Ebert, with 2023 being the first time they exported outside of Peru. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn July 2025, we had the pleasure of visiting the farm to meet Ebert and his family, and see the impressive operation they are running. They are growing a \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEbert has invested in his and his family's future by enrolling in coffee courses provided by Central Cafe y Cacao - a Peruvian organisation dedicated to improving coffee production and processing techniques. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFrom these courses, Ebert learned about a double fermentation process, which he now uses with all of his coffees; this process has garnered consistent results over the years.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis green coffee is sourced through Mark Russel at Khipu Coffee. Mark is based in Liverpool and has Peruvian heritage. He has a passion for Peruvian coffee and maintains close relationships with producers, like Ebert, providing a platform for their outstanding coffees.
